When I click on the folder on a Mac, same, I should be asked for a password. When I click on the folder on a WIN PC, I should be asked for a password. Problem is that I need to access the folder on both a Mac and a PC into which I plug the thumb drive. Just looking for something that'll stop a pciker-upper of the drive from accessing it on a whim. If someone was truly dedicated to hacking the information in the folder, I'm sure they could do it (and I'm not particularly worried about this). Admittedly (I'm sure) someone with more sophisticated hardware/software/hacking abilities could access the folder but I'm talking about a basic protection of "Thumbdrive dropped at an airport and trying to prevent prying eyes from taking a peek." Don't need fancy smanchy encryption of the files, ust a front line "Enter Passowrd" on both the Mac and PC before someone can access the folder. My goal is to have simple password protection for the folder to at least slow access to the folder on the thumbdrive. I have a USB thumb drive that contains a folder of documents on the thumbdrive.
